  As well as the reception centre (which I haven't been to), it's a great place to take young kids, 'tweens' and even 'big' kids to. They have lots of activities including: rock climbing (artificial wall), pony rides, a jumping castle, paddle boats, peddle go carts, hay rides, an animal farm, archery, kids train ride and a merry go round etc. The site has plenty of room for further development and I hear lots of other activities are planned. They also have a cafe, lots of picnic tables (in a couple of different areas, so you won't be overcrowded at any of them), a number of old farm buildings, a blacksmith and lots of old farm machinery to touch and look at. It’s a real bargain too, at only $10 each for kids (including all rides and activities) and there is usually no charge for adults to use the rides etc. with paying kids or just to look around. They also cater for kids birthday parties with a number of options that include different levels of food and drinks as well as all the activities. The same site also has a number of other enterprises on it. These include an excellent Nursery, a Pot and Concrete (and other material) Garden Ornament Supplier, a Café, a Chocolate Shop, a Car Museum, Landscape Gardening Materials (soils, rocks and mulches etc.) Supplier, a Mini Golf Course and Miniature Train Rides. These all have different opening hours and extra costs associated with them, but it is easy to spend the whole day there and still not see or do it all and to spend very little money in doing so!. My son took our extended family there on the afternoon of his 5th birthday in late January 2014 and although it was very hot that day, he and his cousins had a ball, as did his aunts and uncles and even his grandparents. I would recommend it to anyone who wants a cheap day out with the kids, including a bit of fun for themselves...so pack yourself a picnic lunch and check it out...

• Review of "Goulburn Valley Cakes" at Kialla

  Their 3 tiered naked cake was amazing! They got back to me straight away for a quote and advice on the cake, even suggesting better alternatives or ways the cake could be improved being that it was a hot day (storage of the cake) The cake itself was moist, tasted delicious even a few days later, solid to transport and looked amazing! Price was great and cheaper than other local companies.
